My cat has hair loss on the tips of his ears?
I have an appointment to take my cat to the vet this afternoon, but in the meantime, I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this…My cat has hair loss on the outer tips of his ears. It is maybe a half an inch long and only a couple millimeters wide. The skin is purplish. He is a completely inside cat and he is my only cat. Could this be ear mites? A friend said that ear mites are only on the inside of ears.
sam smith answers:
Mites can cause this, also different biting bugs if your cat is outdoors. The vet can give you an ointment to put on the ears.

How often should I shampoo my hair (guy) to prevent hair loss?
So here’s the problem – I do a lot of physical activity everyday, my hair are often sweaty and sometimes dirty. But when I shampoo, I lose a lot of hair. So that’s the dilemma.
Also, if you can, give me tips to prevent hair loss/thinning. Please don’t say reduce stress (:P) ’cause I don’t think that’s in my hand.
sam smith answers:
Every second day!!! Same with girls. Your hair gets weak and breaks off or falls out, trust me my dads brother went bald, he worked at a chipper and wanted the smell to get out so he shampooed three times a day and his hair was gone by age 37

Can u give me some natural practical tips to reduce hair loss?
My hair loss is becoming really serious and I`m really worried about it,WHAT DO I DO?
(a 22 years old boy with a little extra weight, none of my relatives r bald)
sam smith answers:
1) Use proper nutrition. Lack of vitamins, minerals and protein can cause hair loss. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables and consume a balanced diet on a daily basis to prevent premature hair loss.
2) Deal with stresses in your life. The trauma of stressful situations can cause hair loss. Learn how to use coping strategies to manage and relieve stress.
3) Loosen up your hair. Hairstyles such as ponytails, braids and artificial hairstyles can cause baldness by the constant pulling and tugging of your hair follicles. Look for more relaxed styles when possible.
4) Change the method you use to style your hair. Perms and other chemicals can alter the hairs structure and cause breakage and permanent damage. Blow dryers, curling irons and other heating products can cause more damage since they are used more often.
5) Read prescription medication side effects. Before taking any new medications read the various side effects associated with it. When hair loss is listed ask your doctor about an alternative medicine that could be taken or a way to reduce your chances.
6) Keep regularly scheduled doctors appointments. Many health conditions can cause changes in hormonal balances. Visiting a doctor can make sure any illnesses and conditions that develop are treated before they cause hair loss. DOCTOR

How long does it take for hair to grow back after hair loss?
My hair use to be thick and full it is naturally curly. After I had my daughter a few months and I experienced massive hair loss. Eventually my hair started to grow back but it still has been falling out. Now it is very stringy and I don’t have my natural hair texture. I have bunches of baby hair growing at the top but my hair still falls out a lot that it doesn’t create a balanced ratio from when hair falls out to hair growing back. I think I am experiencing low self esteem. I think I just want to hear reassuring advice. Any tips for better hair growth. Thanks
sam smith answers:
Use aloe vera in your hair. For many years aloe vera has been used for hair health. You can mix it in with your shampoo for the best results. You can also mix it with jojoba oil, castor oil or olive oil for good results. This will help soothe your hair and scalp.

sam smith answers:
First off, have a great time at the prom! Secondly, you want to get to that lower weight doing it healthy. 1200 is a reasonable amount of calories, but I’m pretty sure those calories are not coming from all the nutrients your body needs. You don’t want your weight loss coming to a crashing halt! I know all about the crazy diets out there. You don’t have to spend ANY money on a quick fix or gimmick that may not work or work only for a few weeks. I have been on a natural eating plan and I lost 50 pounds in about 5 months. You’re younger, it may be faster. I also incorporated lots of exercise to burn more fat. This way of eating is called Paleo, or the Cave Diet. Eat everything your ancestors ate! If mother nature made it, eat it, if man made it, don’t touch it! It’s as simple as that. Go to the Cave Diet link below. You will lose weight, feel happier, glow from the inside out. Good luck!
