Donna asks…

how can i cure hair loss?

i am nearly a bald man. how can i cure? i am 27 and i think of hair implant. is this the best way? can i implant even if i am completely bald? how much is the permanence? what complications does it have?
is it necessary to use my own hair to implant? every guide is welcome!

sam smith answers:

To prevent you can buy a hair loss prevention online or in a store, if you go to a salon and ask they can tell you. Also go to a doctor and they are able to tell you the details and risks of getting a hair implant.

Helen asks…

Hair Regrowth for women – Rogaine – Minoxidil?

My mom, 50 years old, is experiencing some serious head hair loss. It began about 12 years ago and has progressed to leave her with a very patchy head — im talking some serious bald spots all over the head.

I was wondering if Minoxidil could be the answer. I live in Canada but noticed i could order it online. Is there any consequence to ordering the product and having her give it a shot? Is it ok to order a generic product with 2% Minoxidil or should i stick with 2% Rogaine.

Thanks.

Your Type of Hair Loss

Men begin to lose hair in several different patterns. The most common patterns involve receding at the temples, centralized loss on the top or back of the head (the vertex), and something known as diffuse thinning. Naturally, any combination of these is also very common. You may wish to familiarize yourself with the “Norwood Scale”. It is one of the most frequently used methods for identifying exactly which class of hair loss you fit into, and to what extent your loss has progressed. It is also a good way to see how things may continue if you leave your hair untreated.Different treatments tend to have slightly better results in different areas of the scalp and for different types of hair loss.

Factor Number 2 – Waiting to Treat your Hair Loss

Hair loss treatments today are most successfully used by those who haven’t waited too long to do something about their situation. The process of balding takes years to occur, and it’s true that the longer you wait to stop it, the harder it can be to reverse it. However, fighting hair loss is as much an act of prevention as it is an act of reversal. Younger men who start a treatment regimen today can be the first men in history to keep their hair, when they would have otherwise gone bald. Men who have been losing hair for between 5 and 15 years have also successfully reversed their balding with a combination of treatments, and by using a multifaceted approach. Remember the rule: wherever there’s still hair, you can thicken it.

Factor Number 3 – How Much Hair You’ve Lost

The amount of hair you’ve lost is a huge factor in deciding what treatments to use. If you’re happy to keep what you’ve got today, Propecia and Nizoral (or the alternatives we recommend) are most likely all you need. If you’ve lost a cosmetically noticeable amount, and absolutely MUST thicken, you’re going to want to combine Propecia and Nizoral with Rogaine or other growth stimulants.

Betty asks…

A woman with thinning hair…Any Help?!?

So my cousin is having this problem with thinning hair and I thought maybe someone on here might be able to help or recommend something to help her. She is 26 years old and she has very thin hair, almost balding spots, on the top of her head and alittle on the back. The length is fine, nice and healthy. She has had this for years now but its getting worse the older she gets. She has tried Rogaine and other products like that but nothing has helped her. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Or know of any products that could help regrow her hair or at least thicken the little bit that she has left? Thank you so much for any help.

sam smith answers:

One clue to the type of hair loss she has would be if she is noticing a lot of hair falling all over the place. If so she probably has diffuse hair loss in which there are many possible causes. If she has just noticed the thinning areas without noticing a lot of fall out, she may have androgenetic alopecia. If they are actual round bald patches it could be alopecia areata.
Almost all cases of female hair loss can be improved or reversed. Essential oil formulas are the most effective product to stimulate new growth and restore healthy hair. She would need a very potent formula which I could help with.
