DANDRUFF, DON’T LET IT SET IN!

by James Williams Leave a Comment

In most cases, dandruff is of bacterial origin; indeed, it is the result of the presence of a tiny fungus, called pityriasis, which develops under the thin layers of sebum secreted by the base of the follicles. This sebum naturally protects the scalp by maintaining a natural moisture balance. But when this sebum dries and is not adequately removed after shampooing, it risks causing the appearance of this tiny bacteria, which will spread over the entire surface of the skull if allowed to develop.

Itching or tickling can appear quickly, which will create what is commonly called “dandruff on contact with nails or styling.”

A less common form of this pathology is in its dry form, commonly referred to as dry dandruff. In principle, due to dryness of the skin, the small fine scales will peel off on their own and settle on the clothes. 4 skin rehydration sessions should, in principle, overcome this second type of dandruff.

The most appropriate treatment to effectively overcome this problem is to thoroughly cleanse and purify the scalp:

1 / the application of an antibacterial shampoo based on tea tree oil (recognized for its fungicidal and healing properties) to cleanse, without attacking, while maintaining a sufficient level of sebum.

2 / The scrub application based on seaweed, clay, tea tree oil,, and broken oyster shells. This makes it possible to peel off dandruff and release the plaques stuck on the scalp’s surface, thus free it from this bacteria.

3 / the application of a purifying lotion to thoroughly disinfect the affected areas. This operation is done through a scalp massage which aims to boost blood circulation to regenerate.

HAIR LOSS AND BALDNESS: THE FIRST WARNING SIGNS

A distinction should be understood between hair loss and baldness. If you look at the first case, the situation remains completely normal; the hair at the end of its life falls and is renewed at a rate that varies according to the individual: one speaks about the cycle of growth of the hair.

But when the amount of fallen hair becomes faster than the growth of the growing hair, it is called baldness or alopecia. This phenomenon can lead in some instances to a partial or total loss of hair. When the origin comes from a sensation of hormonal modification programmed in the genes, it is called androgenic baldness.

Androgenic baldness affects most men, the proportion of which increases with the age of the subjects. Regarding hair loss in women, it is relatively rare and often reveals different reasons than men (autoimmune disease, stress, pregnancy)

The first telltale signs of baldness in men:

  • Golf courses that are losing hair
  • The top of the bald head
  • The presence of tiny, thinner, and lighter hair visible on the forehead line
  • Unevenly long hair when growing
  • The scalp becomes visible
  • The appearance of sunburn on the skull
  • Tingling or itching on the scalp
  • More oily and dull hair
  • Thinner hair
  • Hair that grows slower
  • Difficulty reproducing the same cut as before
  • Hair that does not hold up well to styling
  • Hair on the pillow (more than five each morning)
  • Hair that stays between your fingers when you run your hand through it
  • Thicker, stronger hair on the side and back of the neck
  • Hair that becomes darker on the sides than on the top

The first signs of alopecia in women:

  • A scalp that begins to be visible at the frontal implantation
  • A scalp more sensitive to the passage of the comb or the brush
  • A softer and duller hair
  • A slowdown in growth
  • Even a slight difference in density between the hair on the top and those on the sides and the nape of the neck
  • The appearance of sunburn on the skull
  • Some hair visibly limited in its growth
  • The need to use more styling mousse-type products
  • A styling backward that reveals the skull
  • Quicker loss of volume and hold after Brushing
  • Longer time for styling in the morning

Although these signs are not always indicative of baldness in some cases, your skull is likely affected if you find yourself in at least 3 of the characteristics listed above.

But do not panic; currently, effective remedies exist, drugs, surgeries, hair replacement, etc. At the first signs, it is strongly recommended to conduct a precise examination by camera and microfolliscope in a specialized center or at the doctor’s office.

This exact diagnosis will determine the type of baldness and the life expectancy of your hair to adapt to a tailor-made treatment or replacement.

THE WIG AS THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION?

When baldness is too severe, medication and the use of hair implants are unnecessary. What then remains as solutions without falling into the ridiculous?

Fortunately, things have changed a lot, wigs as we knew them had aged well! The hat or helmet effect of these “prostheses” no longer corresponds to the expectations of current customers.

Replacement hair without surgery provides all the answers desired by a new generation of customers demanding comfort and resolution.

The process is as follows: natural hair identical to that of the client is implanted one by one in an extremely thin and invisible membrane when in contact with the skin. Then it is firmly fixed using a dermal and anti-allergic resin heated to 38%. Result: no feeling or pain and a solid fit that allows all professional and sports activities. Only the bald area is affected, and the hair seems to come straight out of the scalp.

So, where do you go to be sure to make the right choice?

As in all fields, this art must be carried out by an expert. We find on the market a series of sellers of pseudo wigs, lenses, etc. Still, it is imperative to be in the hands of a true professional who can prove to you the quality of his achievements by real photos, videos, or physical testimonies of a person who used this high definition technique.

Make sure you are accompanied in a work environment particular to this activity because it is not a specialty within reach of any hairdresser.

“ANTI-HAIR LOSS” DRUGS, BETWEEN HOPES, RESULTS, AND SIDE EFFECTS

For decades, two treatments have been most frequently offered by doctors to try to fight against baldness:

The first and best known is a lotion containing an anti-hypertensive molecule (dosed in 2 or 5%) which is applied to the scalp using a spray.

The second is an oral medication that acts on testosterone (male hormone) to limit the process responsible for androgenic hair loss.

In both cases, these treatments must be taken every day and for life, but apart from this constraint, the long-awaited miracle has still not been confirmed. If a slight visible regrowth has appeared in some cases, none of these drugs was able to grow a hair back where there was no more root. In addition, stopping these various treatments would lead to an immediate resumption of hair loss.

Since their launch on the market thirty years ago, the necessary hindsight in terms of side effects has shown that a majority of patients had not noticed or felt anything abnormal, on the other hand, some patients have observed various disorders, especially concerning sexuality, this number is visibly increasing from year to year.

Based on this drug assessment, research has been directed towards cloning stem cells, which would allow the reproduction of human follicles in infinite quantities. Unfortunately, the researchers admit that it will take many more years to obtain clinical results.

Conclusive.

In the meantime, new revolutionary treatments without drugs have appeared with the priority of minimizing any side effects. LED biostimulation (ATP 38) currently gives visible results by acting in the very heart of cells by charging them with energy thanks to the photon. The bulb is then stimulated and stimulates long-term hair growth even in cases of very advanced baldness. This painless treatment is more and more practiced in preventive medicine and surgeons in the postoperative phase.

Head Hair IMPLANTS: BETWEEN HOPE AND DISILLUSION

by James Williams Leave a Comment

Hair implants or grafts consist in taking micro-grafts from a donor area to redensify a bald spot. The implanted hair grows at first for about ten days before falling to leave only the bulb’s germinal cells, which will produce new hair. If the transplant is successful, the news grows is final and does not fall out. The regrowth results are seen from 6 months, but the final results are not visible until one year.

In men, healthy hair is taken from the crown and re-implanted in the forehead’s bald areas and tonsure (the top of the head). The chances of success are variable and depend on the type of alopecia (disease, hormonal, alopecia areata)

In female androgenic alopecia, the chances of success are slimmer: the fall is often diffuse, the hair removed usually does not hold. Indeed, it is challenging to collect healthy hair since it is sensitized over the entire scalp. Unless the cloning technique on a healthy bulb is more expensive, the transplant is often doomed to failure: the hair falls out, and the bulb does not produce new growth.

Before embarking on a surgical intervention, which should be remembered is expensive, without any authentic guarantee. The risks of rejection and various inflammation are frequent; consult the Center Du Cheveu. We will assist you in offering you a suitable and sustainable solution. Effective, less costly, and surgical-free techniques exist and are available at our Center.

WHY DO WE LOSE OUR HAIR?

The most frequent hair loss is of hormonal origin; it is androgenic alopecia.

It is particularly active in men between 17 and 35 years old and affects women who take the pill or those who follow hormonal treatment.

The reason for this drop is as follows: the testosterone produced by the kidneys and the adrenal glands is modified by the adverse action of an enzyme called “5-alpha reductase,” which will weaken the follicular cells making them die prematurely.

The blood capillaries intended to nourish these cells (arterial blood) are no longer able to reach them, given their state of deterioration. The blood is then bypassed to the little stale blood coming out of the cells (venous blood). The cell no longer receiving a blood supply dies and miniaturizes more and more the hair that it produces. It is baldness.

The critical area to be treated is then the heart of the cell, which must be stimulated to return to its original diameter to be fed again with fresh blood and to reform a follicle.

If the fall phenomenon is well known, it is essential to understand its mechanism to orient the treatment effectively. Indeed, thinning the blood by the vasodilator effect of lotions containing an anti-hypertensive molecule will have little impact against an atrophied cell. The more liquid blood will penetrate more quickly into the cells, of course, but when sick, these cells will no longer assimilate it.

To simplify, it is imperative to treat the cells and not the blood because they are the ones that produce the hair. A practical solution to combating this mechanism now exists, do not hesitate to make an appointment to find out more.

INTERNET AND HAIR LOSS? WATCH OUT FOR TRAPS

When you start to lose your hair, several solutions are offered on the internet. From miracle lotion to hair boosters, many people boast that they can make you regain abundant hair. Food supplements & vitamins, drugs, implants, wigs. Everything is possible, but in the end: miracle or scam?

Food supplements & vitamins

This category of remedy will have minimal impact on hair regrowth once genetic alopecia (the most common) is detected. Indeed, the complexity of the hair loss process could not be entirely eradicated by these dietary supplements. Unfortunately, whatever the type and quantity of vitamins absorbed and despite their attractive marketing, none of them will be able to stabilize hair loss and even less make it grow back.

Medication

First of all, you should be wary of drugs bought without a prescription on the internet. As the components are sometimes complicated to identify, your health could be endangered. If your approach is more oriented towards drugs, a visit to a doctor and the purchase of these treatments in a pharmacy is essential. Indeed, taking medications such as “Minoxidil” or “Finasteride” throughout your life can cause bothersome side effects (nausea, pain, impotence, etc.).

Turning against a foreign company on the internet would be more laborious, if not impossible, in the event of serious complications. Also, copies of drugs are prevalent on the internet; some “online pharmacies” are temporary and do not stop at dishonesty … In short, a lot of money is wasted with health risks that are not worth it!

However, regardless of the treatment chosen, it is always strongly advised to learn about the side effects of these drugs, which require to be taken for life.

Surgery, implants

For several years now, some doctors have used Internet advertising media to make themselves known. This more or less ethical practice has revealed a multitude of practitioners from all over the world (Turkey, Thailand, Maghreb countries, Eastern countries, etc.) extolling the advantages of intervention abroad: costs, equipment, luxurious stays. If some clinics specializing in aesthetics are renowned, caution is required when paying a deposit. Make sure you have seen the results of one or more interventions, and do not hesitate to go there first to see the hygienic conditions. Have clear information on your recourse in the event of “failure” because the laws in force differ from one country to another. In some cases, an appeal is not possible, leaving transplant patients mutilated for life! The preoperative releases to be signed are often written in English or another local language; it is necessary or even essential to understand the terms.

Many disappointed witnesses describe shocking conditions: assembly line work, a nurse who does not speak French, sometimes catastrophic accommodation and hygiene conditions, convalescent stays that do not conform to the photos.

Of course, in France and Belgium, Not all practitioners are created equal, and there are excellent centers in all of the above countries, but hair implants are still a surgical procedure; it is an important act, so find out enough.

Hair replacement without surgery

In this area, the net is full of companies specializing in this new generation of hair replacement without surgery. When practiced seriously, it is a “system” for living quite normally. But, for some time now, many companies have sold pseudo-wigs made from synthetic hair at discounted prices. Of course, no service is provided; the customer must take his measurements in his bathroom and order a piece of hair to be taped on his head using adhesive strips. Some companies also offer to carry out the haircut in the factory and send the part already capped! In the end, these solutions are costly for those who are trapped!

Replacement hair is an expert’s business; a hair replacement system is artfully done; it must be undetectable, the cut perfect. During your visit to a center specializing in this field, make sure to see high-definition video productions to judge the quality of the interventions, obtain complete information then find out about the practitioner’s experience on these references.

Hair loss after breastfeeding

by James Williams Leave a Comment

Many women lose their hair massively after breastfeeding. This period can be stressful when the reason for the loss is unknown. Here is a short explanation to better understand.

During pregnancy, the anagen phase of the hair is boosted by estrogen and progesterone which lasts for the 2nd and 3rd trimester. The hair is then sheathed, more extensive, and in better shape.

However, once childbirth has taken place, the hormones stop working due to the drastic decrease in their quantity. Since it takes about four months for a dead hair to fall out, it is only 2 to 4 months after childbirth that some women (1 in 3) lose their hair abnormally. Experts call this phenomenon “postpartum telogen effluvium.” When a woman is breastfeeding, effluvium may occur later, the hormonal profile being slightly different.

In some cases, the hair cycles do not resynchronize normally and the hair continues to fall out. It is crucial in this case to consult your doctor and make a consultation at the Hair Center: it may be androgenic alopecia or a hormonal disorder responsible for abnormal hair loss.

We advise pregnant women to undergo treatment after childbirth to minimize this fall and thus prevent possible alopecia.

HOW DOES IT WORK TO REPLACE YOUR HAIR WITHOUT SURGERY?

Today, two techniques make it possible to regain hair on bald areas: the first consists of resorting to surgery to remove and redistribute the hair on the surface of the skull. The second revolutionize hair replacement by not being limited to a donor area without any surgical intervention!

The principle of this new solution is just as simple as it is effective: the bald area is replaced by natural hair implanted in an excellent and transparent membrane that fully adheres to contact with the skin. Of course, this implanted hair does not grow but seems to come out directly from the scalp; the result is invisible.

The adhesion of this membrane is achieved with an anti-allergic resin and adapted to the skin’s pH to last several weeks. Showers, swimming and all sports activities become possible. A visit is recommended between 4 and 6 weeks to remove the membrane and cut the existing natural hair.

The time for wigs is over; this system developed by the Center du Cheveu has become the most effective solution in the fight against baldness for a much lower budget than surgery.

Be careful, however, of internet scams! We have already pointed this out in a previous article. Indeed, many companies offer you replacement systems on the internet made mostly with synthetic hair. There will then be the problem of the adhesives used, often very aggressive and reactive, as well as the problem of haircut, which requires real expertise to obtain an optimal result.

Don’t be tempted by the attractive price of an advertisement. Indeed, hair replacement is an expert matter because the quality and resistance of the membrane are paramount. Better not to wear anything than to cover yourself with ridicule.

Here are some valuable tips before you take the plunge:

  • Make sure you are dealing with a professional who has many references: photos, video etc
  • Request a contact resin allergy test
  • Request a test with a test membrane (your hair will not be cut)
  • Be vigilant with the facilities of the center that you consult (booths, hygiene, etc.)
  • Check the hair quality (natural hair is silky and reacts like your hair)

Hair replacement without surgery is arguably the best solution for advanced androgenic baldness. Its ease of maintenance and the absence of constraints make it the resolution of the future already adopted by thousands of satisfied customers.

Hair loss: women also concerned!

by James Williams Leave a Comment

Women are not immune to hair loss which is a taboo subject for some of them as the issue remains locked in a sort of societal silence.

In the collective consciousness, the man is the only one to suffer a consequent loss of hair and not to find the dense hair of his young years. Yet many women are also prone to this evil that insidiously erodes self-confidence.

Often the cause that leads to abnormal hair loss in women is androgenetic. Androgens prevent the proper renewal of the hair, which becomes, by force, fragile. This is because a woman with increased scalp sensitivity to androgens is more likely to experience hair loss. Ultimately, the hair is more like a down.

What are the aggravating factors that cause androgenic hair loss?

  • Family history: If a member of your family suffers from a similar problem, your chances of developing androgenic hair loss are greater
  • Post-childbirth: on a healthy scalp, hair loss after childbirth is normal and decreases within six months. On the other hand, the hair grows back with difficulty on a sensitive androgenic scalp and becomes very fine.
  • A psychological shock (stress): when one is brought to live stressful moments, the body secretes androgens which, unfortunately, only disrupt hair renewal
  • Deficiency of trace elements (iron, zinc, etc.)
  • Thyroid problems
  • Excess bad cholesterol
  • Harmful hair treatments (the constant wearing of headgear, aggressive coloring, brushing)

Note that age is not necessarily a trigger for androgenic hair loss. However, certain critical moments in a woman’s life can worsen the hair condition: menopause, childbirth, puberty, etc.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ALOPECIA

Abnormal hair loss, called “Alopecia,” in medical jargon, comes in different forms, from the most common to the rarest.

Typically, an average person loses 100 hairs per day. Beyond this figure, the observation is precise: the person suffers from a pathology (alopecia), the type of which must be diagnosed by a professional.

In this article, we will go through the different forms of alopecia and the solutions offered by the Hair Center.

The different forms of alopecia

Androgenic alopecia

As explained in our previous articles, androgenic alopecia is the most common form of baldness in people with abnormal hair loss. This part will serve as a reminder.

Who? Both men and women are affected by this form of alopecia.

What is the cause? If a person suffers from too great a sensitivity (abnormal reaction) to testosterone (male hormones), the risk of androgenic alopecia should not be neglected.

How do you recognize androgenic alopecia? The hair becomes thinner and more fragile, which leads to a gradual loss of hair mass. The top of the skull becomes bald, and the gulfs widen to make room for a crown.

Diffuse alopecia

Diffuse alopecia is a form of hair loss that extends over the entire hair.

Who? Men but especially women, are affected by this form of alopecia.

What is the cause? Medication, severe stress, childbirth, chemotherapy, or even an endocrine problem are prone to diffuse alopecia.

How do you recognize diffuse alopecia? As written above, hair loss is homogeneous over the entire head.

Circumscribed alopecia

Circumscribed alopecia, also known as alopecia areata, concentrates on the part of the hair.

Who? Just like I said previously, both men and women are affected by this form of baldness.

What is the cause? Intense stress is one of the leading causes that triggers alopecia areata (circumscribed alopecia). Indeed, this kind of constant stress can cause inflammation of the hair follicles. The roots of the hair are then significantly weakened without being broken.

How do you recognize a circumscribed alopecia? Alopecia areata is characterized by hair loss in one or more areas of the skull.

Traction alopecia

Traction alopecia is a relatively common form of hair loss.

Who? Men and women who have frizzy or mixed hair and who regularly do tight braids or weaves.

What is the cause? African hair suffers from many problems and constraints:

  • Frizzy or mixed hair is one of the most fragile types of hair there is. While Caucasian hair takes root at least 6-7 millimeters below the skin (8 millimeters for Asian hair), African hair is only 4 millimeters. Therefore, when this type of hair is constantly pulled by elastic, braids, or weaving, it is at risk of being uprooted.
  • Because of its incredible fragility, African hair constantly needs to be in an environment where humidity is high (99%). If the hair cannot benefit from a humidity level that approaches this percentage, there is a good chance that it will break more easily or fall out.
  • Too brutal disentangling risks weakening the hair structure and uprooting it.

All of these problems lead to traction alopecia.

How do you recognize traction alopecia? The areas of the skull affected by this form of baldness are located at the border of the face. Indeed, the roots present in this area are more fragile and, therefore, subject to falling.

Congenital alopecia

Congenital alopecia, also called scarring baldness, is a rare form of hair loss.

Who? Both men and women are victims of congenital alopecia.

What is the cause? An abnormality in the constitution of the hair follicle is the leading cause of scar baldness. This anomaly is very often the result of an autoimmune reaction. The root of the hair is destroyed; therefore, the hair can no longer grow.

How do you recognize congenital alopecia? The hair looks much more refined and thinner in places.

What are the solutions provided by the Center du Cheveu?

Suppose you are a victim of abnormal hair loss or think you have one of the forms of alopecia explained above. In that case, it is urgent to contact a professional to be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.

At the Center du Cheveu, you have the promise of a quick, effective and complete hair health check-up! After the diagnosis, you will be offered a solution adapted to your needs. You will be advised and supported throughout the process and even after!

BALDNESS AND MALE HAIR ISSUES

by James Williams Leave a Comment

A man who has abundant hair sees in it a tangible asset that echoes its power of attraction. But what about men who suffer from baldness?

A male victim of baldness would be more affected by the lack of self-confidence and would tend to devalue himself, more than usual, concerning his natural power of attraction (interpersonal, social, or sexual).

Psychological impacts

“The mind takes precedence over matter”: negative emotions and thoughts are of great importance in the relationship with the body. Indeed, psychological disturbances can manifest themselves in physical pain.

Abnormally losing your hair can potentially bring up negative thoughts and emotions such as:

  • Stress: when encountering a problem that affects our physical capital, it generates pressure known to disrupt the hair condition. The more we stress, the more hair we lose and vice versa. From then on, a vicious circle sets in.
  • The lack of confidence on the intellectual and physical. Indeed, an individual can feel diminished, lonely, and sometimes even misunderstood in the face of a physical upheaval, namely a consequent loss of hair. The individual gradually begins to recognize himself in the mirror no longer, and consequently, he has the impression of no longer knowing himself. A sort of existential crisis begins to give way to a feeling of incomprehension and distress:

“How can I assert my virility when what constitutes me, namely my physique and my mind, escapes me? “ Self-confidence, hard to feed, finds himself injured.

  • Blues / Depression: Lack of self-confidence coupled with stress often results in a bitter-tasting cocktail. It is challenging to cope with an unwanted change that tends to alter our appearance. Negative thoughts become legion and gradually crystallize until they create a kind of cognitive distortion. Then comes the depression that slowly creeps into everyday life.
  • The capacity for reflection ( judgment) is affected. Lost between feelings of insecurity and incomprehension in the face of the problem imposed on the person, the person would like to find at all costs a radical solution to their hair problems. Therefore, they could be seduced by certain products whose effectiveness is not guaranteed.

Social impacts

  • Discrimination in hiring: some people may encounter difficulties in the job market because of their hair problems. Indeed, some employers in some countries attach more importance to the physical, which is, it seems, a determining factor in the world of work. Individuals can then ask themselves the following question: “do I have the physical appearance of the job?” or at least do I have to consider my physical capital to reach the position I want? “
  • The mockery (mocking): often, a friend, colleague, or spouse (e) may spoof the person suffering from hair loss. Without realizing it, these people transform the pleasure of socializing into a real ordeal.
  • Relational blockage (couple/flirting): a social trauma (discrimination in hiring or mockery) can give rise to a feeling of illegitimacy in speaking, love games, or quite simply, seduction. The person feels blocked in the face of the impetuosity of this society which advocates as an essential criterion: the physical. The entire relational system in which he has evolved is then compromised.

The physical impacts

As we have previously discussed, hair loss has a tangible impact on the individual, whether psychological or social.

Hair problems can also have a significant impact on the body. An individual who suffers psychologically from hair loss may experience disturbances in his libido. Indeed, lack of self-confidence, stress, or depression creates a blockage that pushes the individual to devalue himself on the sexual level. A reduction in libido is then felt.

One other factor that can cause erectile dysfunction. Taking a drug treatment that aims to limit hair loss: Finasteride (also called Propecia) is a synthetic anti-androgen drug used to fight baldness and prostate cancer. The therapy is supposed to bring about a 30% improvement but only while taking it. This medication is known for its side effects, such as erectile dysfunction and other sexual problems that are likely to occur. These sexual problems can become irreversible even after stopping treatment outright.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A GOOD DIAGNOSIS

It is crucial to be diagnosed as quickly as possible to benefit from effective treatment when suffering from significant hair loss.

When a person realizes that the amount of hair they are losing is abnormal, they find themselves lost in the face of the many scary thoughts that can assail them.

A person suffering from hair loss goes through four distinct stages:

The observation of the problem:

  • The person notices that they are losing more hair than usual. For example, when shampooing or styling her hair. Also, when she wakes up, she sees the hair on the pillow.
  • Questioning the problem:
  • The person has several questions about their hair loss:
  • Why am I losing my hair?
  • Am I ill?
  • Will it last?
  • What should I do to make it stop?
  •

Finding solutions without consulting a professional:

There is a good chance that the person will consult websites, some reliable and others much less, which deal with baldness, alopecia, and other hair problems and offer various anti-hair loss solutions. It is also likely that this person will talk to those around him in the hope of finding the miracle product that will solve the problem.

  • Consult a professional:

The person realizes that consulting various internet sites will not necessarily bring him the best solution to his hair problems. The person will most likely turn to a specialist whom they consider to be the last hope.

Responsiveness to this period is essential. The first reflex is to seek competent people who will answer the many unanswered questions. Being diagnosed by a professional eliminates all these stressful and even distressing questions caused by the incomprehension that hair loss generates.
