6 Grandmother’s Hair Loss Remedies

by Shalini Kapoor Leave a Comment

Illness, weight loss, falling hormones… The causes of hair loss in a woman can be very numerous. If some really require drug treatment, others can be countered by the famous remedies of grandmother. No need to spend fortunes in pill or serum miracle, our grannies had already thought of using natural remedies. Here are 6 to test right now.

1 – Herbal tea with nettle leaves
Indeed, this plant will stimulate the circulation of blood in your scalp. Simply infuse 3 tsp. of nettle leaves in 1 L of boiling water. Infuse for 10 minutes then filter the mixture. Now all you have to do is rub your hair with it.

2 – Garlic
What is this crazy idea again? Well, imagine that garlic will help tone your hair and make it strong! Mix 3 crushed pods with 1 tsp. of warm olive oil. Massage your scalp with this lotion and then cover your head with a plastic cap. Then, wet a towel in hot water and dry it well. Put it on your head for at least 30 minutes and then wash your hair with an anti-hair loss shampoo. Repeat the operation at least twice a week.

3 – Essential oils
Ultimate tip to slow down hair loss: prepare its blend of essential oils added to each dose of shampoo. You will have to keep it in an amber glass bottle, protected from light.

Mix 2 tbsp. of castor oil, 3 tbsp. of Nigel oil, 3 drops of essential oils of true lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia), 3 drops of essential oil of rosemary officinal (Rosmarinus officinalis à cinéole) and 1 drop of essential oil of cedar, cypress, juniper or saint Thomas bay.

Mix 4 drops with your shampoo dose. You should also apply the line-by-line mixture with a dropper bottle to the root of your hair. Leave on for 30 minutes or overnight before your shampoo (about 2/3 times a week).

4 – Brewer’s yeast
Brewer’s yeast is known for its beneficial effect on nail and hair growth. It is indeed loaded with B vitamins, essential to the creation of keratin (95% of the hair). The fungus contained in the yeast will sheath and strengthen your hair.

Careful, we’re not talking about capsules. Here, it is a matter of directly sprinkle brewer’s yeast powder or flakes on our dishes at the rate of 2 grams, three times a day and for three weeks to a month for effective results.

5 – The massage
You may not have even thought about it, but it’s obvious. If hairdressers take so much care to massage our scalp above the shampoo tray, it’s not just to relax.

Indeed, the massage activates the blood circulation and therefore the hair growth. Ideally, this micro circulatory massage should be done at least twice a day with its shampoo and/or hair lotion.

6 – Horsetail tea
This plant, which is also called “rat tail”, “fox tail” or “ponytail”, contains a lot of iron, silica and selenium that promotes hair growth.

Boil 4 tbsp. of dry plants and let steep for 10 minutes before filtering. Drink a cup for lunch and evening after each meal for at least three weeks. This is especially useful during seasonal changes, as hair tends to fall out more easily.
