Two Reasons Why Calliou is Bald
Caillou is the main character in the eponymous Canadian children’s book series. He appeared for the first time in 1989 in a book with Christine L’Heureux à l’écriture and Hélène Desputeaux à l’illustration. The series has been a great success since then. In 2015, it sold more than 15 million copies worldwide. And between 1997 and 2010, it was adapted into a television series. The latter counts five seasons with a total of 144 episodes of 22 minutes each.

The appearance of Pebble explained

Moreover, his well rounded and bald head is remarkable. Pebble on YouTube and Amazon Prime
This explanation thus contradicts the theory that the little boy is ill. The publisher also provides other details.
This is particularly the case of the origin of the character’s name. According to Chouette editions, Caillou is thus called in reference to a practice of the psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto. She wanted “children to give her rocks as a symbolic payment for her consultations.” Dolto’s ideas also played a decisive role in the creation of the character and his universe.
Note that a new web-series focused on the character of Caillou has been available on YouTube since 2016. This one then came on Amazon Prime. These are essentially remakes of older episodes produced by the studio WildBrain Spark. YouTube videos have only been available in the US since this year.
A CRAZY STORY
Hélène Desputeaux created Caillou in 1989. However, its publisher sold the rights to Cinar in 1995. There was a long legal battle, a 10-year legal battle, that ended with an agreement that is not public.
When Canada Post officials decided to put Caillou on a stamp, they knew about this fight in court, and they made a huge mistake by going over Ms. Desputeaux. Either they did not know, and that is incompetence. A Facebook page and a petition were created to support Ms. Desputeaux.
Canada Post should have known that this affront to Canadian creators would not pass like a letter in the mail.
Why doesn’t Caillou have hair?
Inspired by the books created by Éditions Chouette, Caillou was originally a nine-month-old baby. As he grew, his scalp made him unrecognizable in the eyes of the publisher and producers who eventually decided to keep him identifiable. Although his baldness may mark him as different, we hope it helps to make children understand that being different is not only right, it’s normal!
