Your Questions About Hair Loss Home Remedies For Men

by Kayla Bernard Leave a Comment

Thomas asks…

How to make your hair grow fast?

My hair is a little past my shoulders and I can never get it to grow long. Are there any home remedies I can try so I can grow my hair out fast?

sam smith answers:

If you’re healthy, & very active, your nails are growing, your hair should be growing RIGHT NOW. If you want perfection, you NEED patience.

Babies can do that, by drinking their milk. . . . So can you, so can any of us without any help. From your: good genes, good hair care and all the healthy foods from Mother Nature, that’s where you get all your vitamins & minerals for growing from head to toes. Shampoos are meant for cleaning the hair, not for growing.

If you’ve straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: “Foods for Healthy Hair” http://www.foodforhealthyhair.com/ http://sg.news.yahoo.com/food-for-healthy-hair.html – or 10 Best Foods for Your Hair.

NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don’t expect to look like you’ve stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you’ve changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.

Growing healthy hair doesn’t come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you’re in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you’re eating healthy foods. But when hair isn’t growing as fast, it’s because they’ve been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

Cutting your split ends yourself, spend 5-10 mins. On a sunny day so you can easily spot them, using a 2″ scissors, cut strand by strand, section by section, allowing new growth to take over. Then 2x a year, get a good hair cut. This won’t speed things up, but it will make the hair look healthier while it’s growing. Even healthy hair like mine get them, due to normal brushing & styling. Hormonal changes can have a big effect on hair.

Remember: The hair industry is a billion dollar business, they sell products that cleans & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage and causes hair loss. They also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to ‘abuse’. Mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners.

Man-made products & supplements can do more harm than good.
Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11. Pills like medications ALL have side effects. Beware. Example: “I used minoxidil drug to restore the hair on my head; however, I ended up with unwanted body hair. I don’t know if it is temporary or I have to seek medical treatment.” YA poster 9-27-12. Four men are charged in federal court for selling home-brewed hair growth drugs online. Google Shanyna Isom Grows Nails Instead Of Hair Due To Skin Condition. Huffington Post By Rebecca Ballhaus

“You find people oiling hair every single day, the hair sweats and it doesn’t get washed. What do you think happens? It goes limp and becomes thin because it is not breathing,” Shamillah Mohammed, a hairstylist at SUQA, says.
HAIR TRIVIA:
• The hair on your head grows at about 0.00000001 miles per hour. That’s a half-inch per month. Mine grows 3/4” in 29 days.
• Every day, the 5 million or so hairs on an adult’s body add about 40 yards of new growth.
• At any given moment, about 90% of the hairs on your head are growing and 10% are getting ready to abandon ship.

People giving advice here, should list their sources, and not try to sell you products.

Charles asks…

What are some home remedies that will allow my hair to grow longer and faster?

Okay so I just recently cut my hair and I cannot stand short hair! I miss it already, but I know now that I cut my hair it will grow fuller and thicker.. Does anyone know anything that will make my hair grow fast and long and healthy?!

If your hair is bob style now, in 3 1/2-4 years, it will come down to your waistline, cutting them 1x a year.

Helen asks…

I’m 31 years old and I am starting to notice that my hair is thinning in the front corners of my head.?

Must have inherited my grandfathers “bald gene”. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from getting worse. I would prefer home remedies or effective over-the-counter products rather than the surgical route.

sam smith answers:

There are two reasonably effective pharmaceutical methods to prevent and/or treat male pattern hair loss. Neither one is foolproof.
Rogaine, or minoxidil, increases circulation near wherever you apply it. It may or may not really slow down hair loss, but it decreases the number of hair follicles that are dormant at any one time, and seems to increase hair growth. So it’s likely to make you look like you have more hair. And it’s pretty safe- the only likely side effect is skin irritation.
Propecia or finasteride blocks testosterone from combining with alpha reductase type 2. This stops the effect of testosterone on hair loss. However, there’s evidence that it can also reduce sex drive, and that it may also decrease fertility, and that may not be reversible. For that reason, I would not recommend finasteride to a man your age.

Frankly, I would really recommend just leaving it alone… But those are your two pharmaceutical options.

Your Questions About Hair Loss Prevention Women

by Kayla Bernard Leave a Comment

Daniel asks…

Will deep conditioning my hair before and after bleaching prevent damage?

Last time i tried bleaching my hair it totally fell off, but i think because i did it in a part that was being dyed constantly. What I need help with is damage prevention. If i deep condition my hair before bleaching it, will that help?

Also, if i use blond hair dye instead of bleach, will it still cause as much damage, and cause it to fall off?

sam smith answers:

No, it does very little to hair that’s already damaged.

Chemicals doesn’t protect you if you have an allergic reaction to the dye. Chemicals reacts to different people in a different way. Others have dyed the same brand dye for years, then suddenly they have hair loss, so what gives? Years of abuse with chemicals. If it doesn’t happen today, or next month, months even years from now will.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

I’ve responded to many girls (guys now too) under 15 experiencing in hair loss since 2009, due to hair straightening, relaxers and hair dyes. Women 60-90 have those same symptoms but it took them years to get there. But for 15 & under, giving advice here? They can’t predict the future of their hairs, until they’re in their 30’s, but 15 & under with hair loss? C’mon! I’ve responded 7 in 2 hours 9-3-10 alone.

One example found from YA HAIR: “i am 17 yrs old. I had a curly perm when i was 13 years old . Im thinking of going to a dermatologist to help me with my hair loss. What can they do
to help with my hair loss. Its so embarrassing has anyone had help from dermatologist….”
Hair protectant doesn’t protect hair 100%. Like using sunscreens, you still get sunburned. Same with hair.

When it does that, it is too late to do anything about it. That’s another reason why the hair industry is a billion dollar business, their main job is to make tons of money and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss, due to ‘abuse’.

One example of hair loss on a 16 years old.
I’m 16 years old, i don’t really die my hair that much i probably died it like twice this whole year. Well i lose soooo much hair EVEY SINGLE DAY, i lose soo much, that I’m literally almost bald :,( my doctor said she thinks its some kind of hormone change, then my hairstylist says its because its waaay to dry, but idk what it is because it wont stop falling out!!! It might be because i use to straighten it when i had mouse in it, but that was like 2 years ago.. Helpp!!!

Another example, ? About her age:
“I recently decided to dye my hair. I didn’t like the first color so I dyed it again a week later. Then I permed it 4 weeks later, now its really dry and brittle and falls out everywhere, it comes out in chucks when I comb it or even wash.”

Google hair dyes & cancer spec. Black hair dyes which is made from tar. Some people smoke & tan all their lives and do not get cancer. But there are 2nd hand & 3rd hand smoke who are now carrying their oxygen tank so they can breath or have cancer. Same with hair dyes. I’ve responded 3 in the last 15 mins. 9-26-10. If you’re not affected today, or next month, you may never be affected and you’re one of the lucky ones. It doesn’t take overnight, it takes years of hair experimentation with hair dyes.

Here’s a new article I found re: henna, which is supposed to be better for you than reg. Box dye. It’s a good read!

One example on someone who had re-bleached her hair now they’re falling out.

Betty asks…

Reviews on Loreal Eversleek sulfate free shampoo and conditioner?

I’m thinking about buying them as soon as I run out of my current shampoo and conditioner. I want to try a sulfate free line because its better for your hair. I have long, naturally wavy hair. Its fine but I have a lot of hair also. Will this line work well for my hair?

sam smith answers:

There are many ingredients, that we BUY EVERYDAY, to avoid to keep us all healthier.
Examples all the fresh fruits & vegetables are full of toxic. UNHEALTHY FOODS: 10 Dirty Fruits & Vegetables. For beauty products go to cosmetics info dot org.

One is the sun, causes cancer and dry skin, ALSO moles, freckles, skin tags, seborrheic keratoses, Discoid Lupus, Bullous Pemphegoid, Lentigo (Google search them) and lentigines — nearly always non-cancerous skin lesions.

Anti-aging products, skin lightening, BB creams MAY CONTAIN Titatium. Read labels. The FDA have banned 23 more whitening products. Google it. About 17,600,000 results. Google Hydroquinone WARNING. About 141,000 results (0.42 seconds)

Sulfate is another product. I’ve used sulfate shampoo & toothpaste for ages! I’ve used that product for 5 decades. The reason for my healthy silky, shiny, soft & smooth hair then.

Everyone is preaching buy organics. But Google organics, they are confusing, too! Gives me headache every time I read something, but people keep buying supplements which are being shipped from China, that are also causing us health problems. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t have to approve supplements — no agency in the United States does. Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality don’t apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients.
3-15-11. Example: Green tea extract supplements have been linked to several cases of liver damage. Green tea extracts might make liver disease worse.

What’s bad for your hair: heat & chemicals. Heat tampers the growth of your hair. Chemicals can enter the body through the skin. Chemicals contains ingredients formaldehyde causing cancer (relaxers), and have banned by the FDA. Hair dyes causes cancer as well, and I’ve been preaching about it since 2009. London, Feb 20, 2013 I’ve been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

Women in the study with highest concentrations of these chemicals, called phthalates, in their bodies were more likely to have diabetes than women with lowest concentrations, the researchers said.
Phthalates are found in a variety of products, including nail polish, hair sprays, soaps and shampoos. The findings suggest that phthalates could disrupt blood sugar metabolism, said study researcher Tamarra James-Todd, of Brigham and Women's Hospital's Division of Women's Health.

Phthalates are present in certain medications and medical devices, and its possible women with diabetes have higher phthalate concentrations in their bodies due to the use of these medications or devices, James-Todd said.
James-Todd and colleagues analyzed information from 2,350 women ages 20 to 80 who took part in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2001 and 2008. As part of the survey, participants underwent physical exams and provided urine samples.

But avoiding everything, we won't have a life would we?

"You find people oiling hair every single day, the hair sweats and it doesn’t get washed. What do you think happens? It goes limp and becomes thin because it is not breathing,” Shamillah Mohammed, a hairstylist at SUQA, says.

Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS. Hair products just absorb on your hair if they're dry, like a sponge. Shampoo & condition is all you need.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

Lizzie asks…

is olive oil replenishing conditioner good for natural hair?

Can I have a list of things that are bad in conditioners and shampoo that should be avoided? I heard that Sulfate is one but im not sure if there are others. Thank you!

Your Questions About Prevent Hair Loss Women

by Kayla Bernard Leave a Comment

John asks…

How to prevent hair loss and how can I regain my hair back where there is bald in the middle of the head?

Why women always suffer from hair loss? What can be done to prevent that?

sam smith answers:

Hi Kinnixme,

Hair loss is a very common problem among people. In most cases abnormal loosing of hair is a sign of health problems. What is abnormal loosing of hair? Do not panic if you loose from 50 to 100 hair per day – this is normal. If you clearly lose more or you see hairless spots on your head – see your doctor.

So 50-100 strands of hair loss is totally normal and in limits, but if you still want to have stronger hair against hair loss, i advice you to check the following web page, where you can find recent best 10 shampoos that help you to recover from your hair loss problem and they are really great. The page ALSO has information about the possible reasons of hair loss.

Reasons for Hair Loss and Hair Loss Shampoos

I advice you to give Nioxin a try. In the web page above you will also find some other information than just shampoos, such as how to prevent hair loss and what are the common reasons of it..

Hope this can help you.

Carol asks…

What is the best way to prevent further hair loss in women?

Started losing hair in the top when I was using the Mirena as birth control. Have had it removed for approximately 5 months. still having some loss, but appears to be less. Now taking hypertensive medications which also cause hair loss. Need help.

sam smith answers:

Hello Cherick314,

I have a girlfriend that uses this product: http://www.new-hair-growth-now.com

It seems to really work for her. After about a month I noticed the difference in her hair. It looked fuller and even looked shinier; go figure.

They say that Hereditary hair loss, or Alopecia, (the scientific name for Female Pattern Baldness), is said to account for 95% of female hair loss.
This can help women in preventing thinning hair due to FPB, and support the re-growth of your natural hair.

I think you can try it for free for the first 2 months.

Take care 😉

Donna asks…

How come most of the Keralites/Mallus dont get bald, what is the secret behind it?

I know most of them oil their hair, besides that,is there anything that they do, that prevents hair loss. Also they dont become grey easily

Your Questions About Hair Loss Home Remedies For Men

Nancy asks…

How to grow my hair long?

I really want to grow my hair to just under my boobs, i tie my hair in a high bun at night and i take a folic acid tablet a day. This seems to have worked a bit but is there any other home remedies that make your hair grow really fast? Thanks:)

sam smith answers:

Folic Acid – asparagus, beets, broccoli, avocados, Brussels sprouts, beans, chickpeas, soybeans, lentils, oranges, fresh peas, turkey and spinach.
·                     Biotin – cauliflower, liver, salmon, carrots, bananas, cereals, yeast, and soy flour. Keep in mind that biotin content is reduced when food is cooked or preserved.
·                     Vitamin B12 – foods rich in vitamin B12 include animal protein (such as beef, lamb, and veal), clams and oysters, liver, fish, milk, and egg yolks.
·                     Vitamin A – butter, egg yolks, fish, fortified milk, organ meats (such as
liver), and dark green, orange, red (pomegranate), and yellow fruits (persimmons, mangoes) and vegetables, which all
contain beta-carotene.
. Copper – oysters and other shellfish, whole grains, beans, nuts, potatoes and organ meats are good sources of copper. Dark leafy greens, dried fruits such
as prunes, cocoa, black pepper, and yeast are also sources of copper in the diet.
•  Zinc – beef, eggs, liver, pork, poultry, and oysters. Also is also abundant in other high-protein foods, like cheese, legumes and nuts.

If you’re healthy, & very active, your nails are growing, your hair should be growing RIGHT NOW.

Google: “Foods for Healthy Hair” – Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself.

My hair grew 3/4″ in 29 days. How I know? I had a feather extension before my birthday, it was braided, from the roots that’s how long it had grown.

George asks…

What can make my hair grow faster?

Just got my hair cut and they cut it too short, I want it to grow faster, and tips or a daily routein people have or home remedies ? 🙂

If you’ve straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.

Beware.

5 decades of hair know how, previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80’s & 90’s. Have used cheap shampoos for 15 years, no conditioner, but good hair care helps, and all the healthy foods from Mother Nature not made by man.

Home Remedies for Hair Loss
Hair loss is a metabolic disorder where hair starts thinning, falling, or disappearing. The papilla which is an upgrowth at the base of the follicle, actually produces hair when a special group of cells turn amino acids into keratin, a type of protein of which hair is made. The rate of production of these protein ‘building blocks’ determines hair growth. Hair loss is more common to men than to women.

Betty asks…

What is the best natural way to protect your hair loss while chemotherapy?

My mummy is suffering from breast cancer and due to chemotherapy she is facing hair loss so how to naturally protect hair loss

sam smith answers:

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done to prevent hair loss during chemotherapy. There are a few methods that are currently being studied, such as scalp cooling and minoxidil (Rogaine).

Scalp cooling is thought to prevent hair loss during chemotherapy sessions by cooling the temperature of the scalp. Cooling is achieved by wearing a cooling cap, ice packs, or other cooling methods. Some scalp cooling studies have found some success, however, many patients found the caps gave them headaches and were uncomfortable.

Some patients turn to products like minoxidil to prevent chemotherapy-induced hair loss, but find little success. Minoxidil has been found to have little effect on preventing hair loss during chemotherapy.

What to do to keep hair looks healthy and natural?

I’ve got to admit that I have unhealthy scalp. Once in a while, alopecia areata would come to attack my scalp, leaving patchy hair loss, showing a very obvious bald spot. What can I do to prevent this from happening again? Please advise me on the diet area, any recommended supplements? Or organic shampoo or oils that can make my hair grow back naturally and beautifully? Appreciate your advise.

sam smith answers:

This is my regimine to keep my hair healthy. I use alot of natural ingredients.
Hair care: I do not relax my hair because it result in damage. I flat iron at most twice a month with a sedu revolution and redken heatglide heat protectant. I take biotin and msm sulfur to help with growth.

Night care: I wear a satin bonnet to sleep at night and use a silk/satin pillowcase. I usually put my hair in big braids at night so its wavy and detangled in the morning.

Washing: I wash my hair with non sulfate shampoo’s or i cowash my hair. I also precleanse with diluted apple cider vinegar. To prevent breakage or tangles i was my hair in twists. Heres a good video tutorial on washing and conditioning.

drying: I pat my hair dry with a tshirt. I airdry my hair. Rubbing your hair with a regular towel can cause breakage.

Combs: I usually finger comb my hair first before proceeding with a wide tooth comb. I only detangle when my hair has conditioner(I use garnier fructis triple nutrition) in it. I start from the ends and work my way up.

Brushes: I dont brush my hair because can cause uneeded tension or breakage

shampoo: I recommend a sulfate free shampoo unless you use products with silicones. Here are some sulfate free shampoo companies:
Burt’s Bees
Carol’s Daughter
Aubrey Organics: http://www.aubreyorganics.com/
Blended Beauty: http://www.blendedbeauty.com
Kinky Curly: http://www.kinkycurly.com
Trader Joe’s Refresh Shampoo
Avalon Organics: http://www.avalonorganics.com/
Oyin Handmade: http://www.oyinhandmade.com
Qhemet Biologics: http://www.qhemetbiologics.com

condition: for cowashing i use a cheap silicone free conditioner such as v05 kiwi and lime or suave naturals(only the naturals are silicone free). For deepconditioning i use giovanni smooth as silk conditioner(sold at most drugstores but you can get a big bottle at marshalls or tj maxx for value). Everything .

Moisture is really important. I usually spritz my hair with water mixed a little olive oil. Then I seal in the moisture with whipped shea butter, coconut oil or oyin whipped pudding.

Eating healthy, drinking lots of water, exercising and wearing protective styles such as buns, braids, or twists are a great to retain length and promote healthy hair.
